Today’s vehicles are packed with electronics and are becoming ever more saturated with electronic devices. In order to prevent electromagnetic disturbances it is extremely important to ensure that your vehicle’s electronic systems will not disrupt or be disrupted by other electronic devices both internally and externally to the vehicle. In this presentation, you will learn critical insights into properly testing and evaluating EMC/EMI considerations according to common automotive EMC standards like ISO11452-2, ISO 11452-4,ISO 11452-9 ,ISO 7637 , CISPR 25 and ECE10.5.
EMC for Electric and Hybrid-Electric Vehicles
Electric Vehicles require higher power for the electric drive components such as the motor, power converter, power supply, and circuitry. This along with the growing number of new electronic modules for control, communications and entertainment now being installed make achieving EMC far more demanding. Each of these components acts as a path for electromagnetic emissions, while newly integrated modules can produce electromagnetic interference that disrupt the proper functioning of other electro-mechanical devices and pose health risks to consumers. In this presentation, you will develop skills and knowledge on EMC considerations for electric vehicles and hybrid-electric vehicles.
Environmental Performance Factors and Test Methods
Vehicles are subjected to environmental stress for the duration of their lifetime. Climatic conditions are variable and, as such, a vehicle’s performance needs to be verified in each of these potentially hazardous environments. In this presentation, you will gain key knowledge on performance testing according to industry standards like SAE 1455. You will learn how to properly test vehicles for temperature extremes, ingress protection, climatic resistance, or dynamic factors like shock and vibration.
